As I’ve reported here this week, the long range tuna bite is most definitely ON, in SoCal at the moment. Early Dec saw the world record yellowfin (still pending) caught on the Vagabond, a lady angler took a 315 lb YFT last week, and the trip reports are showing 100lb + catches for many offshore anglers.
Fletch also had his birthday and his girlfriend leveraged the in-season ahi (unfortunately, not caught by Salty) to come up with a special birthday dinner for our favorite cooking contributor on the blog.
The recipe is from Giada de Laurentis of Food Network fame. Fletch waited to eat long enough to snap some food porn for Salty. Enjoy!
